Brian is an instructor for Brothers in Battle LLC, the original Rogue FireLLC, and the current Mission First LLC. He was also a fire instructor for the University of Akron in Ohio, four-year HOT instructor for FDIC, instructor for multiple smaller conferences including: Art of Firemanship, Boise Fire Symposium, Portland Firemanship, Carolina Firemanship Days and Perfecting the Craft.

Brian started his career straight out of high school at a volunteer organization and served with them for nine years. He then worked an additional five years as an Emergency Department Medic in a busy Cleveland hospital. In 2008, he started as a full time member of Copley Township Fire Department. There, he served 15 years, five of those as a Lieutenant. More recently, he decided to take his talents from the small township of Copley to the busy city of Elyria, Ohio. He is now a working fireman at a department with great culture and morale! You can find him smiling on almost any call and excited to return to work every shift. an started his career straight out of high school

Brian received several accolades for his involvement during an active shooter call in 2011. He received The Red Cross Act of Courage Award and The State of Ohio Star of Life Award. These were received for bravery and action taken with his crew during this active shooter event.
Brian has made great strides in the fire service but has also experienced the hardships of life and the mental, emotional damage that can happen due to years on the job without regular support. In 2020, the men of Brothers in Battle supported him and gave him the opportunity to rebuild his life after an attempted suicide.
Now, he strives to be a mental health advocate and peer for those in the fire service that struggle with these issues. He is always available for those that make the call for help. He has supported several people through the process and will continue to give the help that is needed to first responders.
Brian is a family man, a father of five sons and a Christ follower. He now sees his life through a new lens and has a much different pace in life. Putting family first, he and his wife of 11 years raise their sons to be Godly men of strong character.
In his free time, you’ll find Brian, waders deep, fishing the Rocky River for Steelhead. A pastime he now enjoys passing onto his sons.
