Grant has been a firefighter since 1995, where he started in NW Ohio.  He moved to Florida in 2003 to work for Estero Fire Rescue (Lee County, FL) and spent 16 years as a Lieutenant on E43.  In 2021 Grant was promoted to Division Chief of Operations and Training. He has taught at various conferences including FDIC, The Orlando Fire Conference, Wichita HOT, Fort Lauderdale Fire Expo and The Firemanship Conference. He is the lead instructor for the FDIC HOT program “Residential Search-Making the Grab”.  He has taught for When Things Go Bad and hosts The Grabs and The Journeyman Firefighter Podcast. He is on the technical panel for the FSRI Fire Dynamics and Firefighting Tactics in Multi-Story Residential Structures.  Grant has an AS Degree in Fire Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  He’s married to Katie and has 2 daughters (Lindsey and Peyton).
